Morgantown, WV, Dominion Post's extreme photo alteration

    If the politician is performing their official duties, of course you have to cover it. If they're in a ribbon-cutting shot or something similar, no.

    Lots of odd judgment calls to make, when it's simpler to bag the whole thing and use common sense, and increasingly dwindling commodity in modern newspapers.

    Wonder if the paper would have airbrushed Jack Ruby out of the Lee Harvey Oswald shooting photo.

    After all, wouldn't they want to give Ruby the chance at a fair trial? Running the photo "as is" would have made him look damn guilty.

    Why the heck run a photo like this anyway? What else was in the edition...the local Lions club president handing a giant check to some Little League coach or perhaps a high school senior sitting at a similar desk signing a letter-of-intent.

    Get some creativity and find a real shot.

    The photo isn't the problem. And, the photo -- I'm sure -- was a handout.
    That's not the issue.
    You're arguing the wrong point.
