    This is an excellent point.

The guy CNN is interviewing that supposedly saved kids, is "in the military" and is a concealed carry holder .... I'm sorry but this dude has no military bearing, and his story lacks credibility.

I also got the sense that he was genuinely freaked out and may not have been at his most eloquent.
What in his story lacked credibility to you?

Anyone with military training shouldn't have been that shaken. When he was asked about his training and reaction, all he kept saying is "I'm in the military. I'm in the military." He didn't have the appearance of an active duty person.
    Maybe he's a cook or something, I don't know.

I wondered that as well. Wolf Blitzer later said the witness' rank was Specialist. The witness apparently appeared on CNN in a different setting and for another interview after the one we're talking about. Maybe that's where the title was discussed.

Specialist is an Army rank. I'm certainly not saying the guy wasn't there. I hope he saved a bunch of kids. If he did, he'll probably get a medal for it.
He just came across to me personally as someone who saw tv cameras and maybe embellished a little.
