Anyone got him in their death pool?

Talk about someone who could have been great and given Mears, Andretti, Foyt a run for greatest American open-wheel driver. Instead he's pissed away the last 10, 12 years, pretty much.

    Sad, no.
Kid had everything. Hot wife, young family, money, fame, good personality.
    Pitched it all way.
Not sad. No chance. Sad is when it happens to you, not when you bring it on yourself.

Yeah, I read that yesterday. Amazing what he's become.

He's been a drunk for years. Every so often you see a story about him having been on the wagon for X months or years, then something like this pops up.

They will probably prop up behind the wheel again for another couple of Indy 500s sometime in the future. He's still got that famous last name.

I was thinking the same thing.

    It's the family disease.
Al Sr. and Bobby Unser have serious drinking problems as well.

Twoback and spnited both are right. It is pathetic, and it is a family disease. What a contrast to the Andrettis (not saying that's a bad thing, mind you).
