More network shenanigans - photoshopping Katie Couric

And editors and network execs wonder why the public doesn't place a lot of trust in the mainstream media. Sometimes it seems EVERYONE just wants to spin what they present.

1,000 examples of doing properly will be undone by one blatant lie or misrepresentation.

 

This from the guy who got bent out of shape when people posted pictures of hounds on a thread about Dubya.

 

Seriously, she doesn't look good enough in the left picture? Whomever did this deserves a good smack.

 

Save one for whoever did color correction on the original shot.

 

I agree. It's not a damn fashion magazine. What are people thinking when they do this -- or order it done?

 

Does this mean the CBS Evening News is thought of as more entertainment than journalism by the powers that be? Go ahead and photoshop the promo photos for CSI and Survivor: Rock Springs, Wyo. But news is supposed to be accurate, not tweaked to look more purty.

 

Who's to say it wasn't Katie who ordered the touching up? Just saying.

 

Take that back, damn you! That's America's Sweetheart you're talking about.

Actually, I thought of that but considered that if it were Katie, she would have had the original publicity shot made slimtastic, too. But It's possible she saw it and ordered it done.

It seems more likely the pinheads at the magazine got the bright idea themselves.
