Amid all the other who-cares crap, do we really need an All-Star Celebrity Game?

And on what planet is Kathy Lee still considered a celebrity?

I was an NBA beat writer for eight years many years ago and saw some of the greatest slam-dunk contests in the mid-late '80s. By the early 90s you could see it was losing its luster. I mean, there's simply nothing they can do any more with the slam dunk competition. It's time to retire it.

They used to have a legends game until someone (I think David Thompson?) blew out a knee.

Even the game itself is so unworthy of two hours of your time that it's not even on an over-the-air network any more.
