The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead lays off 25, but not known on how many newsroom jobs were lost.

The Grand Forks Herald cuts eight jobs, including two reporters.

That Williston job might not be looking so bad now :(

(though I think it might be filled)

Are these NEW or are they the ones from last month? I hear the SE in Fargo was among those getting the short straw.

New cuts and the SE, Scott Nulph, lost his job in the last round.

YIKES!! More cuts? Second time in less than two months?

I had heard Fargo was one of the areas that was weathering the recession better than some others. Guess not.

It's a pity, right when the North Dakota State Bison make the NCAA D-I men's basketball tourney for the first time, too. Wonder if they will take AP? Can't pass that one up, can they?

I could be wrong, but I think most of N.D.'s economic strength is in the west where the oil is. Grand Forks and Fargo are on the east.

Correct, but Fargo has been booming too. Microsoft is building a new campus there.

Forum Communications took on a lot of debt in buying the Grand Forks and Duluth papers a few years ago.

An update on this, it was five from the newsroom. None from sports.
