More fun with ethics: Maxim apologizes for Black Crowes review

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by Pulitzer Wannabe, Feb 26, 2008.

  1. Now that just ri-damn-diculous.
I know we can't expect Maxim to be The New York Times, but this kind of crap makes us all look bad because you know people are seeing this and saying, "See, the media just makes up whatever they want."

They haven't put out new material in what feels like an eternity, but they've enjoyed an extremely loyal following for their tours, which have been pretty consistent in the absence of new albums. I've seen them three times in the last five or six years. Outstanding live act.

Absolutely ridiculous that Maxim would print an album review without hearing the album, but shouldn't really come as a surprise considering the source.

Sure you're not thinking of "Live at the Greek"?

  4. Hey, why worry about knowing WTF you're talking about when you can use snark instead!

Yeah, they covered one Otis Redding song. One. Ever, in like 17 years as a performing band.

Same thing. Both titles are listed on the CD. Wasn't sure what was the correct one ...
