I saw something the other day that they got a warning from the NYSE because they had 10 straight days with an average closing price under $1. I'll try to find it and post it later on today.

But this is a pattern in newspapers these days who fail to understand people will not buy their product simply to read ads or clip coupons. Readers do care deeply about the news but get it from other more timely sources. These same readrs have grown weary of buying lousy, waterdowned editions out of some loyalty to a time long since gone.

'Course, JRC STARTED watered-down, and went from there . . . so they had a head start on everyone.

    Forward thinking, that.

How soon before the price of a share drops below the cost of a daily copy of the Trentonian? (35 cents)

A stock broker, just contacted by the chamber of commerce of a town with one of their daily newspapers, said JRC is for sale for a whopping $21 million.

That's for the whole 'effin company - 22 daily newspapers, 310 non-daily publications and 229 Web sites.

I think we can chip in and buy it.

Of course the $621 mil in debt is a pickle.

    Fuck off JRC.

AND IT CAN ALL BE YOURS!!! For the low, low price of $21 million. Or three easy installments of $7 million.

    Plus shipping and handling.
