Not from my experience it doesn't. $100-150 is the going rate in my area.

Yeah, I got $100 a game for an ACC school. Can't speak to smaller schools.

  3. According to the blog DMN Cuts, which has historically been spot on, cuts have begun today in the newsroom. So far 1 in Editorials, 1 in Sports; 40 (!?) are expected, according to one commenter. Advertising and the printing plant were hit last week.

    Did Dallas ever replace Archer?

  8. The blog above says six editors in Sports now, including one with twins on the way. I'm just sick about this.

Editors seem to be especially targeted nationwide this year. Sick doesn't begin to describe it.

No. Promoted two HS writers to Cowboys, moved one Cowboys guy to Rangers and another to HS. As far as I can tell, they have three on the Cowboys now -- David Moore, Rainer Sabin and Brandon George, plus a strong NFL presence in Gosselin, who was moved from NFL to general columnist when JJ Taylor left.

Going to a U Desk, I'm told, so they're lopping editors like crazy. Don't you still have copy to edit?
