At a town hall with Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.), an attendee asks, "Who is going to shoot President Obama?"

Let's just say the crowd reaction and Broun's answer left something to be desired.

Agreed. The crowd reaction is much more chilling than whatever came out of Broun's mouth.
"Mr. Broun, I'm not familiar with Georgia hunting laws. What's the bag limit on assholes this year?"

I believe it was Bill Maher who said,

"I don't want to piss off the southerners, mostly because you're all on meth and packing heat."

The person who asked this question committed a federal crime. The Secret Service will be paying a visit, and as an example, the idiot should be hauled off to the pokey with bail set at a prohibitively high sum.

But it's also the responsibility of a federal official like Broun - regardless of his politics - to shoot down this stupidity whenever it pops up.

The fact that he didn't tells us all we need to know about this clown.

What this clown needed to say was, "Do you want Republicans to lose every election for the next 30 years? That's what will happen if Obama or his family are harmed. So get out of this meeting. Your views are not welcome here."

What he said was obviously stupid. But there are Southerners who will vote Republican for life - no matter how ignorant or dangerous any candidate/incumbent is or may be. Fact of life in the South ... and I'm neither defending nor advocating this stance.

As a Southern friend likes to say, "A Southerner voting Republican is pissing on the memory of the Confederate dead."

The South didn't go Republican until the Democrats supported civil rights in the 60s.

Three days later, after of course extensive PR coaching, a mushmouth response:

According to EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS, Broun chuckled along with the rest of the crowd when the question was asked.
