Morbid thoughts

Maybe it's because I sang in the funeral choir at church again today (it's been a rough 2009 so far). Or maybe it's because I just read a cool book about death songs that asks one of the following questions.

(the book, by the way, is "I Shot a Man in Reno: A History of Death by Murder, Suicide, Fire, Floods, Drugs, Disease and General Misadventure as Related in Popular Song" by Graeme Thomson. Long title, but a good read if you're a music geek like me)

ANYWAY, two questions about "The Great Gig in the Sky" come to mind:

    1. If you could pick one song to be played at your funeral, what would it be?

    2. Does anyone follow that old, hackneyed journalist habit and have their obituary typed up in a desk drawer?
