    I think more coaches should do this or at least not even hand them out.

    One thing for sure, losing is not part of the culture of New Canaan Football, as the varsity plays today in the 6th straight state championship.

    I'm probably stating the obvious here, but...

    1. Don't hand out consolation trophies.
    2. If you do get consolation trophies, don't burn them.
    3. If you do burn them, in a place like a public park, at least have the decency to clean up your mess.
