Regarding great college sports staffs, I humbly submit Missouri's Maneater circa 1973-74: Jerry Sullivan (Buffalo News); Jeff Jacobs (Hartford Courant); John McGrath (Tacoma News-Tribune); Cal Fussman (Esquire); Jeff Rude (Golfweek); the late Kent Heitholt (former sports editor, Columbia Tribune); Steve Richardson (Dallas Morning News); Robert Falkoff (MLB.com) and Linda Bell Blue (executive producer, Entertainment Tonight). Apologies to anyone I omitted.

Regarding Jay Mariotti, whatever else might be said of him, at least he doesn't duck behind pseudonyms to rip people.

Was it THAT long ago? Most of those guys seem younger than the early 50s that would make them.
