But it was better when it was a one class set-up.

And like countless other states, the boys basketball tourney used to be the biggest thing in the state when it was one-class as well. Williams Arena absolutely packed for every game. The legendary Edgerton team of 1960. Then it went to 2 in the 70s, which ensured it would never be the No. 1 show in town anymore, but still wasn't too bad. But now it's a ridiculous four classes.

BSM beat Edina in December. Private vs Public.

They both probably had pretty good recruiting classes though.

    Here we go :D

Privates are Privates and that's just the way it is. Always been that way.

Look at the Edina roster. I'd have to check, but off the top of my head I don't think they have any open enrollment kids. Could be wrong. Maybe Jeff can help out here :)

The Lee kid is new but he lives in Edina. Always has. He played youth with this group in Edina before going to STA.

This isn't EP girls hockey ;). I'm glad the OE rules have been changed.

Just joking (the nastiest letters I ever got were for a throwaway line about a private school recruiting for volleyball. Taught me that there aren't throwaway lines). And changing the rule where they have to sit a year unless the family moves really changed things. Hockey and basketball I think were the main ones affected by that. Girls basketball in the Twin Cities was getting especially out of control. Some schools would win 0 games one season, then go unbeaten the next year with five new starters.
