The big question is the gaping hole behind the plate for the Tigers.

Inge would be the starter now and he's best in the field (third base, maybe shortstop). Dane Sardinha is very light hitting at AAA Toledo. Max St. Pierre has shown some good signs, but he just got promoted to AAA.

Their best prospect, Dusty Ryan, is in Double AA Erie and won't be ready for about two years.

Farnsworth is Arthur Rhodes with a fast ball.

IIRC, Farnsworth was pretty dominant during his first go-round in Detroit. I remember being pissed they traded their best reliever.

    Exactly.

And that's why I LOVE this trade.

I don't care if Pudge's numbers are down in terms of homers and RBIs.

The Yankees got rid of the fucktard that is Kyle Farnsworth.

Sayonara, you son of a bitch.

Another good trade for the Yanks. They got an immediate upgrade at catcher (see ya later, Chad Moeller) and all it cost them was a guy they were going to get rid of after the season anyway. New York's gotten three key pieces for them and they've given up almost nothing and it will be at least four years before the one potential player could bite them in the ass.

And at the least, the Yankees will get some pretty good draft picks when Pudge leaves and signs somewhere else.

It was ironic to hear Suzyn Waldman talk about how strange to see a big strong guy like Kyle Farnworth crying at his locker.

Waldman could not hide her glee - She hated Farnworth.

They goddamn well better, or they are officially punting the season. Brandon Inge is a C-minus level defensive catcher (so far this year he has thrown out 2-10 base stealers) and a D-minus level hitter (.227), who also is 31 years old, so he isn't going to be getting any better in the future.

Oh yeah I forgot, Inge complains loudly and often to his sycophants in the media (you may wonder how career .230 hitters pick up media sycophants, but the answer is simple: 'No Hablo Espanol,') that he hates catching and he think it kills his offensive production (such as it is).

So the hot rumor in these parts, generating dueling blog posts from McAdam and Edes, is Manny to the Marlins for Josh Willingham.
That doesn't seem like a very good trade.

The ESPN trade blog says it would be Manny for either Willingham or Hermedia, plus pitching prospects.
