While somewhat analagous, Benford's Law of first digits states that in many naturally occurring collections of numbers, the leading significant digit is likely to be small. More 1s than 2s, more 2s than 3s, etc. This is now a component of forensic accounting, to ferret out people who try to finagle the bagel. (I also found it to be true during my visit earlier this month to Atlantic City. The Trop posted assorted stats at the roulette table and sure enough, over the last 100 spins lower numbers came up more than higher numbers.

I always figured Nuke got called up to
the bigs in September, went 0-2 with a 6.63 ERA, started the next year at AAA, came up to stay in June.
Crash took the job at Visalia the next year, managed in the minors for 6 years, then got a MLB managing job at age 43.

Seems to be some traction gaining for a 100-game regular season, no All-Star Game and a neutral-site World Series at Dodger Stadium.

I would have loved to see a hockey transaction for Reggie Dunlop and the Hanson brothers.

Dale must have been at Faber before hs was hired by the Ithica Warriors.
