MLB creates 7-day DL for concussions

    Great, except most of the research I've done on concussions points to seven days as being too short of a time to return to full activities from a concussion.

    That said, anything that will encourage a pro sports team to be more careful in its treatment of an athlete with a concussion is a very good thing.

    True. But you don't have to activate a guy the first day he's eligible to come off the DL. Plus he can always move to the 15-day or 60-day DL retroactive to when he went on the 7-day to begin with.

    This is actually a pretty good idea on MLB's part.

    The story said they automatically move to the 15-day if they aren't better after the 7.

    No, it said players who aren't better after 14 are automatically moved to the 15.
