    Fuck the All-Star vote.

Six of nine AL starters from Bos-NYY -- neither of which is leading its division.
Two fucking Cubs starting that have no business there.

    Wonderful.

I might have just missed it, but did Uggla get in at all?

Of AL catchers with more than 75 plate appearances, Varitek is 20th of 24 in batting average.

  4. Did the players pick him or Francona?

No clue how Varitek got on. Longoria should have been selected ahead of Crede. Joe Saunders probably shouldn't have been selected.

Don't have much of a problem with the NL's roster.

    EDIT:

Reyes probably should have been selected over Tejada. Guzman was the Nats' only rep.

Wright had the credentials, but I don't think you can argue that Ramirez doesn't have them. Wright's numbers are slightly better, but he plays for a pretty shitty ballclub.

Hurdle also chose Randolph to be one of his coaches in the game and the Mets treated Randolph pretty shitty. Wonder if that had anything to do with their lack of representation.

Am I counting wrong, or are there 32 AL All-Stars and 31 from the NL?

Ortiz and his replacement, presumably, are both listed. That list has Brian McCann listed as a first baseman.

Yeah, that makes me feel so much better about Jose Guillen being left off. I didn't have any complaints when I saw Drew, Quentin and Sizemore ... but Varitek?

    Jason Varitek has that beat.

-EDIT - From the Red Sox: Varitek was second in the players/coaches/managers voting behind Joe Mauer.

    Why?

Leads AL in victories. Seventh in ERA. Top 12 in WHIP and BAA.

Jason fucking Varitek? hahaha I don't take this All-Star game seriously, but he's been absolutely terrible.
