And per the SF Chronicle, he's pitching against the A's in an exhibition game this afternoon.

Meanwhile, will anyone stop the parting of the Athletics?

Just read an AP story about Albert Pujols coming back to the Cardinals, and it talked about how he, Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright are on their last ride.
Pujols is 42 and Wainwright is 40. Molina will turn 40 in July. Has any team ever had three 40-year-olds in the starting lineup?

Haven’t looked it up yet, but it seems possible the mid-1980s Reds might have.

The 1927 Athletics, which had 40-year-olds Ty Cobb and Eddie Collins and 43-year-old Jack Quinn.

Plus, I think there were three 40+ year olds in the 1912 Tigers game when the players went on strike because of Cobb’s suspension for beating up a guy with no hands.

ADD: The 1928 A’s had four 40+ year olds with Tris Speaker joining the above.

1983 Phillies were known as The Wheeze Kids and The Sunshine Boys
Lineup had Pete Rose (42), Tony Perez (41) and Joe Morgan (39)
Steve Carlton and Tug McGraw, both 38, were among the pitchers

Never heard that name, but did hear them called The Wheeze Kids, as a play on the 1950 World Series team known as The Whiz Kids.
And the '83 Phillies were the first ones I thought of because of that. They also had a couple of bit players 40 or older, in addition to Rose and Perez, but all the other regular starters were a tick under 40.

    The 2007, second-place Mets:

    Moises Alou, 40
    Julio Franco, 48?
    Jeff Conine, 41
    Sandy Alomar, 41
    Tom Glavine, 41
    El Duque, 41
