Sizemore's peak wasn't very long, only four seasons, but that was an ugly breakdown. I never minded the timing, but that's because the year the injuries first hit was right after I traded him for Miguel Cabrera in a fantasy baseball keeper league. The guy on the other end of that deal never forgave me. :D

The reason you have to use the age is because he is 25. Similar batters are based on overall stats. What do you think it says about a guy's production at that point that his overall similar comps are, in order, 30, 32, 34, 34, 33, 31, 32, 30, 28 and 27. He has five years, minimum, on most of those guys to where when Harper is 30, they won't be his similar comps because as long as he stays healthy he will have 2,500 more plate appearances than them.

He left off, "And the Nats go 26-11!"

I'm gonna miss that guy. ... but I'd be happy to see the Nats get something in return.

Won’t the Nats get a supplemental draft pick if they make a qualifying 1 year offer? With Harper its a no brainer. Murphy might take a the qualifying offer, about 18 million for 1 year. he Nats would take him for 1 year, though that’s expensive. Could any team make a better offer than an additional draft choice between the 1st and 2nd round?

Guess that remains to be seen.

I generally trust Rizzo. ... I'd trust him more had he made a better effort to add starting pitching before the season started.
