Ahh that's right. Looked it up and he was traded for Kazmir. Think Peterson said Kazmir was too small and wouldn't last with his mechanics. He never was a No. 1 or 2 starter, but he
definitely lasted and was a decent pitcher.

Did you actually get Dick Pole's autograph or did you sign that?

That's great. There's probably at least 4 of those cards in the attic at my parents' house.

Did they look like the one in this commercial?

How do suspended games work with fluctuating rosters?

Say pitchers A and B were in and out of the game before the suspension. When the game resumes they were either sent down or injured, replaced by pitchers C and D. Would that mean the team theoretical played the game with a 27-man roster?

More specifically, had the player Soto replaced on the roster already been in the game?

That's a good question. I don't know how that works, except that the Nationals clearly did get an extra player because they were able to use Soto, who wasn't on the roster when the game started. Rosters can turn over enough that you can't just remove players who weren't on the squad when the game started.

It's not baseball, but one time, NBA players played on both teams in a suspended game, and it's a wild story.

In 1978-79 season, deal like no other happened at NBA trade deadline | NBA.com

Reminiscent of the Pine Tar Game, which was re-played from the point of the Brett homer — two outs in the top of the ninth — some three weeks later.

Billy Martin was so pissed off about the situation, he had pitcher Ron Guidry playing center field and left-handed Don Mattingly at second base in the "replay."
