I understand what the Mariners are doing - going into semi-tank mode until the Astros nucleus and Trout hits free agency - the Mets? I got nothing. What is the point of a great closer when you might not have many games to close?

 

The Mets GM is also Cano's former agent. Be prepared for all sorts of delightful "connections" like this in the next few years of his employment.

Segura supposedly was the cause of the big fight in the M's clubhouse this summer, he supposedly was taking personal shots at Dee Gordon via texting or something and it got sent to the wrong people. He's a good player but now has been traded twice within three years. Makes you wonder.

With Santana, what are the M's gonna do with Healy at 1B? DH? Healy strikes out a lot but he can be a solid 25 homers, 85-RBI guy with sufficient at-bats.
