    Even that is almost always bullshit.

    If the veteran QB is (or ever was) good enough that he knows anything you want your hot young prospect to learn, he has to harbor, deep in his heart of hearts, the thought that if Wonderboy makes a complete diarrhea-fest of the job, ole Savvy Senior has a chance to march back into the starting role himself.

    Jeff Garcia and Jon Kitna were prime examples of this bullshit in Detroit.

    The "veteran mentoring" bullshit is, well, bullshit. Young players don't sit around the wood stove in the dugout asking old gaffers how it was done back in the legendary days of 2003.
