First, Owl, you made me spit out my drink.

Second, did something like this ever happen between George Romney and Berry Gordy? Is this Son of the Prominent Michiganders' Airplane Slapfest?

 

Not if it's before take off. Seats have to be up. After take off, yeah. Then your only recourse is to jam your knees into the back of the seat for the entire flight.

That's why you've got to know your plane. Either get an emergency exit row, or on some planes -- depending on layout -- the exit row doesn't recline. In that case, the row behind the exit row is pretty good.

But the guy involved sounds like a real thug if you ask me.

 

This was pre-takeoff? My bad. Absolutely. Mitt's wholly within his rights.

 

Pretty sure. The guy was taken off the plane prior to takeoff.

Romney, from the article, was the first to initiate physical contact. If there's a problem, you get the flight attendant. Last I checked, Romney wasn't in charge of anything.

 

Maybe it was just his way of paying tribute to Al Haig.
