Stop letting the facts get in the way of a good story...

Don't you work for an organization that's the fiefdom of one family? Sorry, I thought people were having a debate about something in journalism. Try SPR.com instead of SportsJournalists.com.

I simply LOVE the line on the cover . . .

    "A True Story"

And we should believe that . . . why?

    I have all day.

    You summed it up neatly.

Respond to THAT, DC, if you please . . .

Not quite. We are independently owned and operated by Turner, and have full editorial control. Hire a fact checker.

I think the problem people have with Albom is that he makes a lot more money than any of us will ever make, but does't feel like he actually has to be an honest journalist. A lot of people bust their butt for little pay, and then see a clown mail it in and get rewarded for doing so.

I don't know about anyone else, but it pisses me off a little.

He has some consistently-solid college football and basketball columns on Yahoo. Didn't he help break that UCONN scandal last year?

I was fine with it until he got caught fabricating a story, then further compounded the problem by not really admitting to it - i.e., apologized moreso for getting caught than for breaching basic journalism ethics - and threw editors in front of the train in an attempt to exonerate himself from his idiocy.

DCaraviello nailed it. We're all just jealous.

Written a couple of books, too, I think. Didn't he write Resilience with Alonzo Mourning?

Another Albom book based on unconfirmable interviews with a now-dead subject.

Well, knock me over with a feather. ::) ::)

Isn't it amazing how dead people always say such sage, wise and lyrical things?

    Yes, it is.
