MISSOURI NOT MISSOURAH

    actually, i just made that as a flippant response...

    but, could that have something to do with it?

    is columbia and missour-ah town? i say missour-ah because that's what my parents say. they're from california, mo., (well, actually mom's from latham, but calmo is the closest 'town' to latham) and it's not too far from columbia

    I've always allowed southern Missourians to get away with saying Missourah, because well, there's still from Missouri (by way of Arkansas, apparently).

    But north of the Ozarks, I've almost never heard it called Missourah. We always considered that one of the answers of "How to tell if you're a redneck."

    BTW, the Grandpa Simpson quote was classic, even if I didn't like the Missouri reference.
