Well, the U of M isn't that great. I know an upper grad who does not know how to write hard news, shoot a good photo or video, or learn CMS systems except for Blogger.

 

Retrain them to do what? Something outside of journalism, I hope.

 

My god, retraining in some of these lame internet ideas? final cut? storytelling? photo galleries? jeezus nobody wants this stuff, publishers. My god how they have ruined this business. People want sports news, breaking news and features and columns. They do.

 

People want photo galleries.

 

And the opportunity to comment on them, which they will instantly turn into pissing matches about anything except the subject they are posting under.
