Miked umpires -- a good thing?

    Tom Hoffarth of the Daily News in Los Angeles has a sports column talking about FOX's broadcasts with miked umpires and finds that it has been informative for viewers and even for players and broadcasters, too.

    I think it should be if done right. There should be some interesting sound come out of it, especially if an ump is explaining a decision to a coach.

    Of course, depending on the coach, the bleep button would probably also be neccesary.
