No idea at all. The department is in good standing with the NCAA and hasn't had any issues I can think of.

    Why?

Because TigerVols has been praying for this to happen for months.

Damn, I shoulda been praying to win the Lottery!

All joking aside, this probably means he knows the NCAA is going to hammer his program in the hearing coming up any day now, and the Administration wants to try to lessen the impact a little by offering him up to the NCAA gods.

I just hope this doesn't impact the hiring of Serrano.

Lemme see, football coach bolted after a year, basketball coach canned for NCAA misconduct, baseball coach dismissed...

Resignations in June are usually a good sign of things to come.

Since when does good standing = about to become a prison bitch?

Makes Malfeasance Moore seems like a wonderful AD by comparison...

He should have been fired immediately after selling out Bruce Pearl on the eve of the NCAA tournament. At least he got to cash an extra couple of months' worth of paychecks.

He and Pearl both should have been fired long before then.

Oh, and I thought the sarcasm was self-evident in F_H's post, Dixie.
