    Lantaur is right. This guy has extensive experience. Whether he is the right guy is open to debate, of course. Did the top editors conduct any real search outside the paper?

    Given Bill Windler's support among many staffers, it sounds like top editors didn't conduct any real search inside the paper.

    Perhaps, and I'm just guessing here, the powers that be felt that Davis was a better choice.
