    I'm stunned a high-paid TV network executive would blame viewers for his disastrous hire.

    Like the writer correctly notes, national NFL games are not the place for broadcast newbies.

    Carey had a fine reputation as a ref. Then he gets on TV, where his primary job is to comment on replay calls, and misses an ungodly percentage of them. That's not broadcast inexperience, that's a guy failing at the old job he was supposed to be good at.
