Microsoft Office 2007: Is it worth getting?

    bingo. my brother works for microsoft. he's in marketing. this is exactly what he told me. in fact, he offered to get me the stuff to upgrade for free but said it's a bad idea.

    he says basically no one should pay to upgrade unless you identify a crucial feature of vista that you need that XP doesn't have. for 98 percent of users, there is no such crucial feature. when your computer eventually dies, you'll get vista on the new machine.

    Why not just go after Open Office? It's free and works the same.

    Google also has its Web-based Office programs.

    I only got the upgrade disks because they were part of the deal when I purchased my laptop late last year.

    Rok, the keyword is "prettier." That's what Office 2007 gives you. I've had it for about a month now, and that's about all I can see.
