How long has MLive had a presence in Lansing?

They've had a Lansing office when Ann Arbor still had a seven-day printed newspaper. Beat writer back then was Steve Grinczel.

There is a lot of talented writers in Bay Area News Group/Media News Group, yet they keep going outside for help. Not a good practice. Does not encourage loyalty.

What would the salary range be for this? I'm curious because I work in Washington and would love to apply for this type of opportunity. Just have to consider if it's worth moving the family that far.

Valpo, I can't speak for the salary but I'd be willing to bet it's pretty good. It's one of the MLive major beats along with Wolverines, Lions, Pistons, Tigers and Red Wings. I'd give it a shot.
