Only if Michael Silver says so.

You know, I wondered why the hell they didn't pay whatever they had to pay him to lure him from a sure starting opportunity. Everyone can be bought. I'm sure some money and the chance to play for a team shoving it up the Jets' asses twice a year would have been enticing.

Because Cassel's next start will be his first. Since high school.

  4. brad johnson was behind casey friggin wheldon at florida state, and he turned out ok, byh, so that isn't always a hard-and-fast rule.

i will admit that cassel hasn't shown much, though, and i'd rather see kevin o'connell starting than cassel.

Cassel gave them a 9-7 performance today. I'd have to say realistically, he wouldn't top no turnovers and one big play as a day's work. But Daunte? I dunno. When 32 teams think you're done, perhaps you are.

Brad Johnson didn't take over for a guy with three Super Bowl rings.

And I find it hard to believe Johnson ever looked as bad in a preseason as Cassel did this year.

  7. fwiw, espn is now reporting on its ticker that cassel will be the starter for the rest of the year.

They need an ex-Viking but not Culpepper. He did it 10 years ago, he can do it today. Randall Cunningham. Hook him back up with Moss, watch the MVP season commence.

Jake Plummer is only, what, 33 years old? Might not be the worst person to throw on their roster. I heard he was traveling around Thailand the past few months. Maybe it would depend on the results of his drug test.

Next Sunday's Pats-Jets game suddenly lost a lot of its luster.
