Michael Franzese, former mob captain, suggests some NBA games previously tainted

In case you don't know who Mr. Franzese is:

The NBA (and other entities) regularly brings in Franzese to counsel its players on the problems associated with gambling and in getting in the pocket of those who seek to pray on the rich and famous.

Just listening to the Jim Rome show now (1st segment of the 2nd hour), Rome asked MF if this was the first time NBA games had been affected by an official. MF did not answer directly, but he said that, to paraphrase, it was naive to think this never has happened before.

Whereupon Rome asked him if it has happened on the NBA level. MF answered stating that he didn't want to say anything specifically, and that he's gotten in some hot water for saying things before, but his response left no doubt that he feels/knows that NBA games have been affected by 'on-the-take' referees previously.

Wonder if we'll get any follow-up on this from the NBA.

EDIT: Apparently Rome spent 1.5 hours talking with Franzese and taking calls for Franzese to answer. I did not hear anything but the first segment, so can't convey other details. Rome did say at the end of the show, however, that Franzese is his 'best guest ever,' and that what he has to say is 'chilling.'

    Franzese has written two books:

I wonder what rokski2 has to say about all of this.

That's all well and good, but the real test of his quality as a guest lies in his "epic"ness, not to mention his status in the proverbial "rack."

Why not put this on the already existing NBA game-fixing thread instead of starting a 2d one?

Doesn't Rome say, at the end of virtually every show, that today's guest was the "best guest ever??"

    War Starman. Rack me. Out.

Starman, that was one of our best comment ever. You're racked.

Clearly you misread. I was wondering what rokski2 -- the eloquent, witty half of the rokski duality -- thought.

I've heard Franzese speak on a couple of occasions. Chilling would be a good way to describe his message. He spells out just how easy it is to fix a sporting event.
