Anybody else intrigued by this book? Anybody here read it yet?

I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the Crichton stuff I've read. While this looks like something of a departure given the science-fiction bent of his later works, the premise sounds fun. I'm just wondering if I can get absorbed in it enough to get past the fact of his death.

Nobody ever made science exciting the way he did.

Travels is vastly different from anything he ever wrote. This one might be farther out there.
