The South Florida Sun Sentinel is seeking an aggressive and versatile reporter to cover the Miami Marlins.

We want a candidate who can break news and cover games – but also someone who will find new ways to build audience and engage with our readership.

Must be social-media savvy, comfortable being on both sides of a video camera and have the sense of urgency needed to fit into a digital-first operation.

Bachelor’s degree and experience on a professional or major college sports beat required.

Interested candidates should email a resume, five clips and contact information for three professional references to sports editor David Selig at dselig@sunsentinel.com. (No phone calls, please.)

Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, so please indicate if that applies.

The Sentinel doesn't travel for Marlins road games anymore, does it?
Nowadays, I imagine that would be tough to justify unless you're in a market that's passionate about baseball.

We do travel for road games.

There were some trips we didn't make last season as we dealt with some staffing situations. But even still, there were many trips that we did make.
