That's the truth. Mets had the division and playoffs in their grasp and putzed it away in the last two weeks. Now, they're hoping that the Nats can take two from the Phils while they beat Florida tomorrow. If they can beat Florida.

Paul Hoover with the only hit for FLA today. I covered Paul Hoover in Legion and HS baseball. Good to see one of the remnants from my old days sticking around.

Looks like you could have a cool little feature for your paper since he's local and you covered him. Maybe call his family to get a cell phone number to get a few quotes. Or call his legion and/or high school coach.

I'm long gone from both that paper and that city. They gotta do it themselves now!

Thought I would mention that the Mets had no hitters today too. Zing!

I went to HS with Paul. I was talking about him with Jason Wood earlier this season, pretty cool.

    I'm old-school.

A swinging bunt -- or any bunt -- to break up a no-hitter pisses me off. Especially late in the game.

Stand in there and try to hit the fucker. Let's see if you can do it.

Yeah, you got your hit. Your little p*ssy hit. Break out the champagne.

Guess that bat got too heavy, didn't it?

WTF are you talking about? He took a full swing at the ball and beat out the hit. It just didn't have the distance, Rexy, but that doesn't mean he didn't "stand in there and try to hit the fucker."

What do you want him to do, kick the ball foul because he doesn't deserve the hit? ::)

Good point, Buck. I just found the replay.

    Ignore the previous post.
