Re-litigation happens all the time. Not necessarily defending re-litigation in every circumstance, but it happens all the time.

Some of these movies will be banned one day.

Turner Classic Movies needs to close up shop, because we can not tolerate all those '40s and '50s movies where people are SMOKING!!!

Frankly, it's pathetic when people judge things from the past against today's snapshot standards. You'd think the very process would be an instant reminder how foolish they're going to look in 10, 20 or 50 years for holding any particular opinion now. Or do they really think everything today, as long as it's PC, is going to endure for all eternity? If so, insufferable egomaniacs.

You’re likely correct. And it sucks. Banning anything of its time is wrong. It should be studied and learned from.

Animal House isn’t a Mark Twain book. But some want to ban both. Same reason why applies to both.

What I don't understand is that just about everyone knows Mike Cernovich is not an honest player. Why didn't Disney just ignore him?

Because he put a spotlight on Gunn's comments. As others already suggested, it is hard to believe Disney didn't already know about Gunn's inappropriate attempts at humor. The firing wasn't about morality, it was about public relations.
