He is a great interview. He was on the Dan Patrick show a while back. Seemed completely opposite of what you read about him. Big-time sports memorabilia collector, apparently.

    He's a walking disaster, though.

And another episode of Two and Half Men has been written.

It helps that he plays a likable walking disaster on his show too. I'm trying to think if there is another sitcom actor who could overcome this kind of trouble.

I know Kelsey Grammar had his share of issues when he was on Cheers and Frasier, but it was nothing close to what Sheen has been through.

I guess they figure if the public was outraged, they'd stop watching his show and yet it remains the best-rated sitcom on network TV.

The difference between the real Charlie Sheen & his TV character is that he's a mean drunk in real life.

If he was just a happy drunk who banged prostitutes for sport, no one would care. The bar of expectations is not set very high for him.

But he seems self destructive. And he's had enough wake up calls that he should have addressed his problems by now.

And, he's no kid. He's a good 10 years or more older than any of these dumb athletes we discuss and he still can't get it together.

Even the details of this story point to how out of control he is.

It looks like he's in town to spend time with his kids while the ex promotes a TV show.

The guy can't just watch some PPV porn and get a good night's sleep so he can take his kids to Serendipity 3 without a hangover?

Kids get up early. He's dragging a hooker back to his room at 2:00 AM. That's a guy who can't prioritize his own kids ahead of getting drunk & laid.

The one year I did a dead pool was right after Martin Sheen went public about Charlie's drug problems and I was in a dead pool where you couldn't pick from a list of predetermined 20 people and you when someone died, you would take their age and subtract it from 100 and that's how many points you got.

That year, I took Sheen and it was probably about a decade ago.

I get the drunk part. I get the pissed part. But trashing the hotel room and getting the cops involved? When you're already walking on razor-thin ice? Moronic.

When you've gotten away with what he has and you remain the biggest star on network TV, it doesn't surprise me that he feels that way.

Sheen's PR guy issued a statement saying Charlie had "an adverse reaction to mediciation" and was being treated at the hospital and will be released tomorrow.

Sounds logical enough. If that medication was whiskey and cocaine. :D

I assumed that's what he meant, too

Throwing out the medication alibi when it isn't true should be a felony and these PR hacks should do jail time as a result.
