Completely agree. Huggins, at least when I've tried, is impossible.

Beale St. is great. I guess I didn't go in with ridiculous expectations. The Triple-A stadium is one of the nicest minor league venues around (I joined the Y behind it and had a great view from the roof) and of course you've got the Grizz, Tigers, music and BBQ. It is insanely hot. Be near a swimming pool, that'd be my advice.

Dusty in Memphis, a great album. The only problem with the gig is that you're s urrounded by people from Tennessee. Is that arrogant enough?

I don't believe they've narrowed the field yet as of last week.

I can't say for sure, but if they can't lure away some talented reporter from a recently down-sized paper (Hi Dallas, and how are you?).
    One rumor was Jean-Jacques Taylor.
I'd guess that they would promote from within and do the beat shuffle. DeSoto to preps. Preps to Ole Miss, Ole Miss to Memphis. Or something like that.
Personally, if I was a hiring editor and I had an opening, I'd be working the contacts to see if I could lure someone away from Dallas.
