Memphis high schools: 2 shootings in 8 days

I never understand why these things happen. When I was in high school and got into testosterone-filled rages — as most boys do — I tried like hell to walk away but unfortunately settled for some mild physical confrontation. We are completely failing as a society when one 17-year-old thinks, "Man, I hate that 19-year-old ... I think I'll shoot his ass."

That's two in eight days in Memphis. I wish that city had ever given me a feeling that it will fix things.

A quote from the story on the first shooting...
"On Monday last week, a Hamilton High student shot an algebra classmate in the leg in a dispute over rap music. The student recovered."
