Memo to The NFL -- Enough With The Vinatge UNIs

I liked the New England throwbacks but I am sick of the Charger throwbacks, Steeler throwbacks and the Seattle jerseys from last week.

 

I love the New England throwbacks.

The Steelers are among the few teams with awful throwbacks. I like my Chargers in powder blue, my Lions in Hawaii blue and my Buccaneers in creamsicle.

 

Loved the throwbacks the Falcons wore a few weeks back.

 

May a 90-proof Bobby Layne haunt your dreams.

 

I like some of the vintage uniforms.

But <i>not</i> the 1960 Denver Broncos uniforms that they'll break out next weekend to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the AFL. Note the far right:

They play like this and I'm in favor of the Steelers wearing these every week.

 

The Steelers have another throwback that looks similar to the Jet and Lion throwbacks.

These are just fine.

 

The Jets & Giants made their "throwbacks" their permanent uniform not too long after every NFL team wore throwbacks for the 75th anniversary season in 1994. And the current uniforms for both NY teams are a lot better-looking than those worn in the 70s-80s-early 90s.
