    Description
    The Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Team is currently seeking a Director of Media Relations.

    Responsibilities Include:
    * Generation of positive publicity for the Chicago Blackhawks including traditional hockey media nd unique story ideas surrounding the team, players, office, etc.
    * Oversee website media and ensure website content to express overall media goals.
    *Assist with creation and writing of media guides and other team manuals.
    * Responsible for all media credentialing and distribution.
    * Actively participate in planning, setting up and controlling all aspects of press conferences.
    * Distribute press conference and post-game quotes to local and national media.
    * Oversee game day/night operations, including press box and media coordination.
    * Coordinate player and coach interview sessions.
    * Provide practice coverage for media relations department.
    * Assist with writing and organizing of game notes.
    * Work with all department to provide public relations support for marketing, community, corporate, broadcasting, promotional, business and sales initiatives.
    * Frequent travel with the team will be required.
    Requirements
    * BS/BA degree with minimum 5-7 years equivalent experience in the public relations/journalism field.
    * Previous media experience in the Chicagoland is strongly preferred.
    * Experience in sports required; experience in hockey is a plus.
    * Must possess very good interpersonal skills and have ability to work well with all groups.
    * Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by events and game schedules.
    * Creative thinking and ability to work with a sense of urgency.
    * Proficient in computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft applications.
    * Frequent travel with the team will be required.

    Oh, my lord, how I wish, Flasher. But John McDonough's running the team now, from a PR/marketing standpoint. He's going to bring in a heavy hitter. This job is so ridiculously above my pay grade, it's actually funny. :D :-\

    Well, now that I read the prereqs, I meet all eight criteria, but still. I'd have no shot at this. Plus, I no longer live in the Chicagoland area, nor do I have any media relations experience.

    I know it's a new era for the Hawks, but it's still weird to see the thread title.
