    Nook Logan missed his first HR of the year by about an inch. This is a guy who is as big as a toothpick. The Nats are even crushing their outs.
    Still a long way to go. I have zero confidence. But it is fun to watch the Mets implode.

    John Maine has been fucking brutal since his August 4 start against the Cubs. He's 2-4 with two no decisions. In 41 2/3 innings, he's allowed 46 hits and has an ERA of 6.26.

    Beat the Mets, beat the Mets, everybody step up and beat the Mets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Willie Randolph's been a winner everywhere he's gone. But Thurman Munson is not walking thru that door! Joe Torre is not walking thru that door! Reggie Jackson is not walking thru that door! You get my point. Willie needs to shut the fuck up about how great he is and realize that when it comes to the great Yankees of the last 30 years, he's about no. 30 on the list. He's been a winner because he's been along for the ride. Now that he's navigating the ship, the band is playing as it drowns.

    I love Acta after the game, "we're just trying to avoid last place."
    Acta should get a couple MOY votes for getting this team around 70 wins with that pitching staff (kudos to PC Randy St.Claire) and woeful offense.
