    This position is based in Las Vegas, the UFC’s hometown and the Fight Capital of the World.     Strategy for Winning:

    Our office consists of people who are passionate, dedicated and innovative people.The Managing Editor manages the editorial direction of the daily news coverage and content programming on UFC.com.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Leads the execution and fulfillment of the editorial strategy on UFC.com as outlined by the Editor-In-Chief.

    2. Sets the tone, composition, voice, look and feel of the UFC.com editorial content.

    3. Manages entire editorial team, including regional specific managers of digital, digital producers, associate producers and coordinators; as well as internal and external videographers, photography resources, and contract writers across all locations, predominately in the United States.

    4. Assigns and/or edits select content, including multimedia.

    5. Establishes an effective, fluid relationship with the Public Relations team, the Creative Director, the VP, Post Production and VP, Live Event Production.

    6. Works closely with Sponsorship team to develop content programming in association with sponsorship commitments.

    7. Assigns team members and manages relationships with other departments, managing the pitch process and coordinating coverage of content creation, planning and scheduling.

    8. Identifies gaps in timing of coverage and subject matter.

    9. Evaluates content resources and updates or expands as needed.

    10. Establishes metrics and key performance indicators to be tracked in order to evaluate website editorial performance and analyzing the results.

    11. Manages hiring needs and related human resources requirements, including hiring of Contractors, Freelancers, and other temporary staff as needed.

    12. Oversees all aspects of content production and live event coverage.

    Skills and Experience:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Art/Design/Creative Multimedia, Mass Communications, Advertising/Media, or Linguistics/Languages, or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree is desired, but not required.

    2. 5+ years of Journalism experience, with a proven track record of quality reporting and writing.

    3. A track record of aggressive management and quick-turn editorial programming in a fast-paced digital news environment.

    4. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.

    5. Proven experience conceiving and producing long-form and high-impact written enterprise content that involves video integration.

    6. Solid news judgement is a must, along with the ability to think creatively. The ability to budget for and plan long-term coverage is essential in this role.

    7. Extensive experience managing editorial teams across different locations and time zones.

    8. Excellent communication skills and an ability to lead while working collaboratively with multiple teams.

    9. Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.

    10. Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks, as well collaborating with a talented, passionate, dedicated and innovative team in a fast-paced environment.

    11. Deep understanding of the sport’s complexities and its business model.

    12. Must maintain discretion and confidential information.

    13. Willingness to work nights and weekends, and to cover live events as required.

    14. A comprehensive understanding of editorial best practices, including SEO.
