    Ya mean the asterisk correcting the crux of the article didn't bring you around? JFC, if you eff something like that up -- ya know, who's the plaintiff and who's the defendant -- re-write the whole damn story, don't correct it with freaking asterisks. I skipped right over that asterisk and didn't understand the whole story till the end. This isn't print; ya can correct an internet story pretty easily. Instead they compounded the problem.

    It lacks a link between the departure and the hiring of a third-party investigator, besides timing. Hiring a third party to evaluate the company’s handling of a sensitive matter isn’t a lot of meat. Nor is the fact that the investigator was hired after she learned of the complaint.

    There’s a story here about a major media company hiring a third party to evaluate its response to a sexual-assault report. It’s fair to note that the EIC left two weeks later. Connecting the two without backing it up by attributing sources is ... not ideal.
