Johnny Mac is concerned the Mafia is infiltrating tennis.

The Mafia and tennis? YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!!

What's next: golf? Guess the Mob likes the country club set.

Why is it strange that the mafia would be into rackets, Capt. K?

Guess I shouldn't be if the net profits are there for the taking.

That's one of your faults, Capt. K. You have no love for the Mafia and the baseline of the crimes they commit. Johnny Mac is simply giving the Mob a couple of lobs and to think they wouldn't be involved is a backhand compliment.

I wonder what kind of spin the ITF will put on this story?

In all honesty, this isn't that outlandish. Probably not an easier sport to fix out there than tennis.

And we know the profile of the American mafia. What does your normal Russian Mafia character look like?

Any players involved better hope they don't get caught. They could be looking at 15-30 (or 40) years in the hoosegow.

I swear I thought this thread was slugged "McEnroe eats out mob".

Ace, I blame you for this string of tennis puns.

    It's all your fault.

    But we love you anyway.

Would not surprise me at all if the Russian mob is involved in tennis. There are signs pointing to Davydenko (who's allegedly dirty) having some mob ties, IIRC.

The last thing this sport needs is a bunch of mobsters volleying shots back and forth.
