Where does McClatchy get the money. McClatchy has a market cap of about 70 million dollars and 1.6 billion in total liabilities. Tronc has a market cap of about 570 million.

McClatchy has to much debt. The company is under water,

McClatchy cannot afford basic travel expenses for its current staffers. Where is it going to get the money to acquire more publications?

Anyone who loans them money is a fool. Or in the decade-ago time machine.

New owner of the LA Times is looking for a partner, possibly McClatchy, to aquire Tronc. There's the money.

Not really an error. The author is saying if McClatchy owned The Orlando Sentinel and South Florida Sun-Sentinel, they would pair well with the Miami Herald. Now, the wording could be better. I understood what he meant.

That's what I was wondering. He basically just wrote the sentence backward.

If McClatchy merges with Tronc, does that automatically mean McClatchy family makes a ton more money for themselves? More boats, vacation homes? And conversely what does it mean to Joe and Nancy who are wondering if they will be laid off before or shortly after Christmas, rinse repeat the layoff angst for coming years? What does it mean to the biggest suits and the littlest guys/gals? And same questions for Tronc suits and little folks. Thank you in advance.

In the Venn diagram, this is where Suits overlaps with Shits.
