Maybe McClatchy laid off one too many copy editors in Raleigh?

The article said it came from the Rock Hill paper, which just adds to the weirdness.

That wasn't as bad as the centerpiece one Monday during the season. Referred to the Panthers in the AFC South.

Darin Gantt, while he writes for Rock Hill, has also been blogging on the Charlotte Observer's website if that helps clarify anything. Charlotte has been hit twice on the Panthers beat, first when Pat Yasinskas left to blog the NFC South for ESPN.com, then when Charles Chandler left. Therefore, Gantt and David Scott are working the beat, with Scott Fowler and Tom Sorensen still writing columns.

But yeah ... pretty bad goof in Raleigh.

Copy desk in Raleigh asks: "Is it basketball season yet?"

Let's hope someone told them the Hornets aren't in Charlotte anymore.

Wow. That is bad. And some people on that staff think their shit doesn't stink.

Their design sucks too. Looks like something from 1941.

Sometime in the late '80s, as a very young copy editor, I wrote a cutline referring to the "Baltimore" Colts' victory over some team. The slot's comment, when he caught it on a proof: "You weren't even born when the Colts were in Baltimore."

Wait until someone finds out the IceCaps are no longer in Dorton Arena.

Sam, bringing back some memories! I saw the Nature Boy wrestle there.
